UMW – WHAT’S ITS PURPOSE?
United Methodist Women
The purpose of the UMW is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church. The UMW engages in mission work locally, nationally, and internationally. Some of the mission projects include the assembly of health kits and flood buckets, as well as the collection of Campbell soup labels. Additionally, each year in November the UMW has a holiday bazaar that provides funds to support many UMW projects. Finally, UMW participates in district and conference activities.
UMW meetings are held on a monthly basis September through May. Membership in the UMW is open to all women.
